Aim

The P.G.D.L.P.O. seeks to train law graduates to ensure a perfect fit in existing legal practices in India, focusing on the outsourced legal services industry. The P.G.D.L.P.O. aims to satisfy needs at two levels: at the employee level, to aid law graduates in enhancing their employability, and at the industry level, so that employers can be assured of the quality of their prospective recruits.

Duration

This programme is divided into two semesters over the course of a year. This programme will take students through certain fundamental areas of learning that are crucial for any lawyer desirous of joining this exciting sector of the legal industry.

P.G.D.L.P.O. Courses

Keeping industry requirements in mind, the P.G.D.L.P.O. programme is divided into the following four subject areas, each with a focus on areas critical to your success in the outsourced legal services industry: legal knowledge and skills, industry awareness and preparedness, technology and legal ethics, and communication.

Methodology

The P.G.D.L.P.O. programme follows a unique methodology, combining world-class training materials and a variety of e-learning techniques to ensure maximum benefit to the learner. The programme has been developed over months of intensive research - both academic, as well as into the finest practices in the Indian LPO industry - by IGNOU, School of Law and Rainmaker.

Eligibility

Any law graduate, or law student in the final year of the LL.B. programme, may apply.

NOTE: Law students will be granted the diploma only upon submission of proof of completion of their law degree.

Fee Structure

The programme fee (all inclusive) is Rs.18,000/- (Rupees Eighteen thousand only).

Key Dates

Start of Semester 1 of Fourth Session: August 1, 2010
Start of Semester 2 of Fourth Session: February 1, 2011

Since the programme commences on October 1, 2010, will I miss out on anything by enrolling on the last date i.e. September 30, 2010?

No, you will not miss out on any part of the programme. The programme is designed to be delivered asynchronously, which means that learners do not necessarily have to progress at the same pace. Unlike how you may have experienced conventional education in your school and college, the PGDLPO programme allows you to learn at your own pace, and so, even if you enrol by the last date, you will still experience the programme as if it were made specifically for you and was meant to start the day you enrol!
