PG Diploma in Nutrition Security and Sustainable Development
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers need based academic programmes, including professional, vocational and general awareness programmes to the seekers. The University is one of the largest and premier open university in India. The Chair for Sustainable Development(CSD) department of IGNOU been running an online one month educational appreciation programme on “Leadership Programme on Nutrition Security and Sustainable Development” based on the Leadership Agenda for Action paper prepared by the Coalition for a Sustainable Nutrition Security in India since last one year. The objective of this leadership course is intended to sensitize and guide policy and programme leaders to rely more on evidence-based programming for achieving nutrition security and sustainable development. We are in the process of reviewing this appreciation course and would like to assess the need for a PG Certificate or PG Diploma course on this theme for the Public Health Nutrition Programme Leaders in the country primarily working in the public sectors(Ministry of Women and Child Development and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) and civil society and public health nutrition professionals.
 The purpose of this survey is to assess the need for PG Certificate or PG Diploma course on “Leadership Programme on Nutrition Security and Sustainable Development” for the students, academics, NGO’s policy and programme implementers in collaboration with the Coalition for a Sustainable Nutrition Security in India.
